K320 scoops up a 'Spesielt Anbefalt' award from Stereo Plus magazine

Håvard Holmedal of Stereo Plus Magazine (Norway) is already well-acquainted with Kerr Acoustic products, having reviewed the K300s earlier this year and subsequently adopted them to use as a reference stand-mount speaker. Following on from the success of the review, he decided to spend some time with the K300’s floor-standing brother. Hear how he got on below:

“The sound image is excellent, the sound of the guitars extremely believable, the exquisite trumpet extremely airy, and the rest of the sound is impressively detailed and refined, but it is the depth and three-dimensionality that really tear you out of reality and into the music.”

“It doesn't add anything to the sound and makes it one of the most versatile and flexible speakers I've had in the living room in a very long time. It does not favour any particular genre of music, other than that it clearly prefers good recordings with spacious soundscapes, good dynamics and great holography. Then life becomes easy, and the music has room to be just as beautiful, wistful, hellishly tough, merciless and silky smooth as it should be. And basically it asks you to ditch everything from hi-fi playlists and just listen to regular music.”

“It's no secret that we have a pair of Kerr Acoustic K300s to use as a reference stand speaker. It does its job in the best way, and gives fairly immediate feedback on changes in the system, whether it's the amplifier or a new streamer/DAC being connected. With the K320, there is even more of a fun factor with a very well-coiffed bass reproduction and a clarity, precision and openness that is incredible, which is unusual even in this price range. But what will be talked about is guaranteed to be the qualities in the mid-bass and the depth of the bass.”
